We now have a second location at the Gates of Panorama to better serve this growing community. Eye Health Recommendations for Every Age

Preventative care in any area of healthcare is often the best solution in maintaining a healthy body and mind. Eye health is a primary consideration for all and that is why we recommend that:

• Children should have their first eye examination at 6 months, and again at the age of 3 years, then every year after that until they reach adulthood. Remembering that good vision plays a vital role in their learning ability.
• Adults in general should have their eyes checked by a registered optometrist every 1 to 2 years, which will assist in monitoring for risk factors related to eye disease.
• Seniors and adults over the age of 50 are recommended to have their eyes checked every year, since common eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration are at a higher risk with aging.
• Contact lens wearers in particular often benefit from a regular annual exam, because of the frequent associated complications with direct lens wear contact with their eyes.
• Diabetics are subject to complications that require annual eye examinations to monitor their eye health.
